The Georgian Residence was built in 1818 by a Scottish carpenter
named McMullan. It was then sold to a Mr. Eckersley, who
caused some uproar after building a porch on town land.
Robert and Kathryn then purchased it in 2005.
Today, the Georgian Residence is the only house in Niagara on the Lake to have its four original
corner wood-burning fireplaces still intact.
Niagara on the Lake is Ontario's only designated heritage district and
a destination that attracts people from all around the globe.
And why not? With one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world,
the district is home to the renowned Shaw Festival, world-class
golf courses, award-winning wineries, and an array of fine
restaurants that will keep your palette coming back for more.
